December- 2014 : RELIEF ASSISTANCE BY NSAI MEMBERS TO THE CYCLONE AFFECTED FARMERS OF ANDHRA PRADESH

The National Seed Association of India (NSAI) members have contributed Seeds worth Rs 1.55 Crores to the farmers of the severely affected regions of Cyclone HudHud. Shri.M. Prabhakara Rao, President, NSAI along with the representatives of the Seed industry association, met the Hon. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandra Babu Naidu and handed over the letter regarding the committed contribution on 27th October 2014. The seeds contributed as a part of the relief assistance is being distributed to support marginal farmers of areas severely affected by the cyclone. November - 2014 : Bangladesh, India and Nepal sign historic agreement in the evaluation of rice varieties

The Secretaries of Agriculture of the Governments of Bangladesh, India and Nepal signed a protocol on cooperation in the evaluation data of rice varieties released in their respective countries for release and commercialization. The agreement was made during the Regional Cooperation on Seed Issues workshop in Kathmandu, Nepal on 18 October 2014. The protocol on regional cooperation, which applies to rice varieties developed by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and public sector organizations in the three countries, was hailed as historically significant by the agriculture executives.    ...

October - 2014 : Eighth Annual General Meeting 13th September-2014

The Eighth Annual General Meeting of the National Seed Association of India (NSAI) was convened on Saturday 13 September 2014 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad. The AGM was chaired by NSAI President, Mr. M. Prabhakar Rao. A large number of NSAI members participated in the AGM. September‐ 2014 : The New Government – A Promise of Progress

Agriculture minister in the new government, Radha Mohan Singh, highlighted his six focus areas: 1) Expand irriga􀀠on coverage: The government will launch a Prime Minister's Gramin Sinchayi Yojana to expand irriga􀀟on coverage and reduce the dependence on monsoons.
